There are several ways to display Target for ArcGIS section data in the Geosoft 3D Viewer or in ArcScene.

Display Section Map Layers in the Geosoft 3D Viewer

Display map layers from a Target for ArcGIS section data frame in the Geosoft 3D Viewer.  Select a single layer or multiple map layers in the Table of Contents, right-click and select Display Layers in Geosoft 3D View...  This will convert the selected layers to a raster image and correctly georeference the image in the 3D view.  This option is handy when you want to view the section in 3D but do not need to query the data.

Export 3D Features from Target Map

Export 2D Target for ArcGIS section map layers to a new 3D Shapefile (or DXF).  These 3D Shapefiles can be opened in ArcScene or in the Geosoft 3D Viewer.  Select the layer in the Table of Contents, right-click and select Export 3D Features from Target Map...  This is useful for interpretations made on the section data frame where you want to access the true 3D coordinates or to view it in 3D.

Wireframing Tools

The Target for ArcGIS wireframing workflow tools allow you to create interpretations on multiple section maps. These are saved as 3D objects in a File Geodatabase. In the Geosoft 3D Viewer each section interpretation can be wireframed together to create 3D bodies and surfaces which can be saved as multi-patch Shapefiles and opened in ArcScene.  This video describes this workflow in more detail.

Plan Map Hole Traces Shapefile

When a Plan Map is created with the Hole Traces option and Shapefile output selected, a 3D Shapefile of the drillhole traces is created. Use PlanT_Trace.shp to quickly load the drillhole traces in ArcScene.
