Job Summary:
To provide sub specialized services for the Perioperative Care of patients undergoing Neuro surgical or Interventional Neuroradiology procedures.
Principal Duties:
• Performing the professional duties of a Subspecialist Neuro Anesthesiologist in accordance with the delineation of the scope of care and privileges as recommended by the Director of department and approved by the Credentials Committee.
• Supervise and assist in preoperative assessment of patients undergoing various Neuro surgical or Interventional Neuroradiology procedures.
• Supervise and provide perioperative anesthetic care for all patients undergoing various Neuro surgical or Interventional Neuroradiology procedures.
• Perform various procedures including central line insertions, arterial lines, and various other procedures as and when needed.
• Providing consultation services when required by other consultant colleagues.
• Supervising the work of assistant/associate consultants, professional development of the Neuro anesthesia fellows and provides his/her evaluation of their work at the request of Chairman /Director.
• Assuring performing medical documentation and charting in a legible and professional way and to supervise the documentation of the rest of the team.
• Communicating clearly and effectively with colleagues and patients.
• Providing patient and family education according to patient’s status and needs.
Educational Requirements:
• Preferably a fellowship in Neuro Anesthesia post Anesthesia Board completion or adequate experience in a busy Neuro center as deemed necessary by the credentialing committee of KFMC.
• Independent practice in Neuro Anesthesia.
