Description
- Strategically plan and direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, value-added logistics, safety performance, or logistics quality management.- Supervise a team of Contract Logistics Operatives. This will include the day-to-day planning and direction of the team in line with business needs and objectives.- Set a business development plan in action to ensure that growth targets are translated in to contract logistics department targets in terms of sales and revenue growth.- Direct the distribution process to clients and ensure it runs smooth and without any delays in order to ensure excellent service level.- Negotiate the best rates with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency for delivering 3PL services.- In conjunction with the division management, formulate and lead the implementation of the strategy in line with the company's vision, mission and corporate objectives.- Direct the preparation and consolidation of the contract logistics budget and monitor the financial performance versus the forecasted budget so that the business is aware of the deviations in costs and/ or revenues and appropriate actions to improve performance are taken accordingly.- Ensure the effective planning and allocation of resources and implementation of appropriate standards and controls to ensure that all of the company's activities are carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner.- Monitor operational business performance against strategic objectives by regular management review to ensure that objectives are achieved and required corrective actions are taken in an efficient and timely manner.- Lead and direct organizational and operational change through business-aligned change initiatives, programs and projects that reflect international best practices and changes in the competitive environment and technological advancement- Lead and monitor all project management processes to ensure projects are managed within project parameters of scope, cost, time, quality, functionality, safety & environmental standards, all in accordance with set standards.- Create and implement strategies and initiatives to support client's relationships.- Manage the offering of additional service options to clients and negotiate terms of agreement during the logistics projects.
Profile
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent- MBA or Master's degree in any related field- 10-12 years of relevant experience in Logistics or supply chain related field with at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities- Extensive knowledge of contract logistics services, warehousing and transportation.- Knowledge of local and regional markets.- Project management skills.- Strong communication skills.- Problem solving and analytical skills.- Relationship management and communication skills.- Leadership skills.- Negotiation skills.- Presentation skills.- Conceptual and strategic thinking.
