Geotechnical Engineer

Task and Responsibilities
- Provide Geotechnical technical advice
Audit of reports, method statements and related drawings from consultants. Research for alternative geotechnical solutions via internet and library resources. Preparation of proposals, expressions of interests and other marketing materials, when required.
- Project support
Liaison with all staff of MMUP, other government agencies and consultants to ensure successful progression of project. Assist in managing all aspect of submittal, reviews, approval against contract requirements. Site visits and inspection.
- Assistance in MMUP Geotechnical Database
Assist in preparation, checking, updating and maintaining MMUP geotechnical database.
المهارات
- Analysis of geotechnical data from laboratory and insitu testing to derive suitable design parameters.
- Understanding of basic geotechnical design principles
- Ability to interact with consultant and contractor.
- Sound communication skills including report writing and liaison with relevant parties.
- Computer literacy with the ability to use a variety of geotechnical soft wares especially gINT and knowledge of GIS.
Required Experience
- Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in road and/or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to scope and organize and undertake field investigations including borehole and test pit logging, sampling and field testing.
- Analysis of geotechnical data from laboratory and insitu testing to derive suitable design parameters and develop geotechnical/geological models
- Experience in geotechnical investigations, analysis and design
- Possess the ability to collect, analyze and interpret data.
- Experience in managing and liaising with construction engineers, consultants, contractors and geotechnical engineers.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
المستوى التعليمي
At least, a Bachelor degree in civil engineering or related Earth Science Degree.
