Soil Engineer / Geotechnical Engineer
Combined Group Contracting Company (K.S.C.C)
• Review and provide technical recommendations and direction for subsurface investigation at sites for fossil and nuclear power plants.
• Explore underground conditions to predict performance of power plants under normal (static and dynamic) working conditions as well as during earthquakes.
• Advise on feasibility, foundations and construction procedures.
• Perform and review specialized geotechnical analysis for engineering properties of soils and rock, shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement, earth pressure, liquefaction analyses, geo-synthetics and earthquake induced ground deformation.
• Design and review earth structures used in power plant projects.
• Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Will conduct field exploration/assessment, sampling, soil classification inspection, analysis and technical support
• Will perform grading drainage and slope stability analysis, liquefaction and lateral spreading.
• Will independently coordinate small projects with the direction and review of senior technical staff.
• Review bid analyses and makes recommendation.
Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, or Geological Engineering or Engineering Geology
• 4+ years of experience in rock and soil mechanics, subsurface and surface investigations, geotechnical reports, design of underground and surface foundations, monitoring of geotechnical designs and the ability to prepare construction specifications
• Perform design calculations and perform geotechnical engineering analyses for: shallow and deep foundations, seepage, slope stability, earth-retaining structures, settlement, ground improvement, liquefaction potential and applications of geosynthetics;
• Laboratory testing, measurement techniques, evaluation and determination of geotechnical engineering soil properties;
• Applied computer analyses using numerical methods;
• Constitutive laws of soils, soil properties characterization, and numerical modeling of seismic behavior of soil masses;
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, or Geological Engineering or Engineering Geology
